What we do for homeowners
Most of the calls we take from homeowners are urgent — a toilet that will not flush, a gully overflowing across a path, a drain backing up in the garden after heavy rain. We run a genuine 24-hour service and aim to be with you the same day, with the equipment on the van to clear the blockage and a camera to show you what caused it.
The rest is planned work: pre-purchase drainage surveys before you commit to a house, repairs to cracked or collapsed pipework, septic tanks emptied and inspected, and gutters and hard standing cleaned.
Every engineer who comes to your door is directly employed by Exjet. We do not subcontract domestic work, so the person who arrives is accountable to us and knows how we expect a job to be left.
What you can expect to pay
There is no call-out charge. You get a price before any work starts, and it does not change once we are on site — unless the job turns out to be something different from what was described, in which case we stop, explain, and agree the new price with you first.
If the problem turns out not to be yours — a shared lateral drain that South West Water is responsible for, for instance — we will tell you so plainly rather than charge you for work that is not yours to pay for.
How a domestic callout works
Ring 0800 328 6655 and you will speak to someone in our Paignton office rather than a national call centre. We will ask what is happening, where, and how urgent it is, and give you an honest arrival window rather than an optimistic one.
The engineer clears the blockage first, then looks for the cause. Where it is worth doing, a CCTV survey shows exactly what is happening inside the pipe, and you get the footage and a written report rather than a verbal opinion.
If a repair is needed we quote for it separately, so the decision stays with you. Most damaged drains can be repaired without digging up a drive or a garden.
