Sewer Repairs and Renovation
Exjet is an expert contractor carrying out sewer repairs and renovation throughout Devon and Cornwall. We provide a complete solution, drawing on the expertise of our in-house engineers and CAD technicians. Our operatives use the latest plant and equipment.
Fast and Efficient Repairs
With ever-increasing road traffic levels, it’s crucial to complete repairs efficiently, keeping disruption to a minimum. When a sewer network is cracked and deteriorates it becomes a public health hazard. This can include foul odours, sewer flooding and pollution, and so repairs have to be completed urgently.
Exjet Solutions
We use the very latest sewer renovation methods, including cured-in-place piping (CIPP) techniques, pipe bursting, slip lining, and localised patch lining. Trenchless, no-dig technology allows us to repair sewers and drains without the need for excavation. This includes pipes with diameters of between 70mm and 1200mm.
Sewer Renovation Explained
Sewer renovation is the process of repairing or replacing existing sewer systems to improve their functionality and extend their lifespan. This process is necessary to prevent sewer system failures, blockages, and leaks that can cause environmental and health hazards.
Sewer renovation typically involves a combination of several methods, including those detailed below:
Pipe Relining: This method involves the inserting a flexible tube or liner into the existing sewer pipe. The liner is then inflated, and an adhesive is applied to bond it to the existing pipe. This method is often used when the sewer pipe is still structurally sound, but has minor leaks or cracks.
Pipe Bursting: This method involves replacing the existing sewer pipe with a new pipe. A bursting head is inserted into the old pipe, which breaks it apart while simultaneously pulling the new pipe into place.
Pipe Excavation: In this method, the old sewer pipe is dug up and replaced with a new one. This method is used when the sewer pipe is severely damaged and cannot be repaired through relining or pipe bursting.
Ultimately, the choice of method used for renovation will depend on the condition of the existing sewer pipe. This includes the location of the sewer line, and the severity of the damage. Sewer renovation is typically carried out by licensed and experienced plumbing professionals like Exjet. They have the necessary equipment and expertise to carry out the repairs safely and efficiently.
More About Trenchless Sewer Repairs
The process of CIPP sewer relining means we can insert a liner layered with resin into the affected sewer. Using either air or water pressure, the liner is inverted into the affected drain and cured in place effectively providing a new pipe within the existing structure.
With a design life of 50 years plus, the functionality of the drain is restored for an extended period of time.
For smaller isolated repairs, we install CIPR patch repairs. This utilises a glass fibre resin patch to cover singular or localised cracks, fractures, joint displacements etc., returning the drain to full functionality.
All repairs are individually assessed with recommendations given for the most appropriate method as part of our bespoke solution for each client, based on their individual needs.
